Why Do You Smile?
Why Do You Smile?
“Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:12
Flight Austin to Los Angeles-October 23, 2002
Prayer in the air-A young woman and her dad
She was a 25-year-old woman traveling with her dad, who had to administer oxygen to him throughout the flight to Los Angles. She mentioned he had lung cancer, and that one of his lungs had collapsed making it extremely difficult for him to breathe. She explained they were flying to Los Angeles for treatment. Tears fell down her cheeks while I helped administer the oxygen; it was clear he was dying. I gently touched her hand, and told her I would be praying for her. I couldn’t help notice the comfort those words brought her. “Thank you,” she softly responded through the tears.
Before we landed I went to check on them, and gave her a NY CD. I shared with her that my dad was also not feeling well, and how the CD helped me through some difficult circumstances. Her face lit up at the gift of the CD. I told her it was beautiful and will bring comfort to her soul.
Lord, you know this young woman’s and dad’s heart. You know if they know You personally or not. Lord, if they do not know You, I pray Holy Spirit You would soften their hearts for salvation in Jesus, and they would become Your children. Help them both with his cancer. I pray for his healing, if it be Your will. I pray his heart will seek the kingdom of God, and he will understand heaven is a real place, and our true home. I pray comfort over his daughter and their family. I pray for the doctors who are treating this man. May they have heavenly wisdom with regard to him, and that they would all experience a miracle by healing this man of lung cancer. I pray Your love will move all around this man and his daughter. In Jesus name Amen
A place where God is and love dwells
Drawing me ever higher
No chains on my heart
My mind my soul
I soar ever higher
Carried on the wings
Of love itself
