Chosen

“I am God’s desire.” He fell in love with me, His beloved, His own creation, and sought to win my love. He passionately pursued my heart. And won it. He expresses Himself to me in tones of tender love as I seek Him in His word. My heart is so occupied with Him that I lose sight of everything else and Christ alone satisfies every longing of my soul.

The Shulamite girl felt marked by her unlovely tanned skin and unworthy of a king’s love. Yet, Solomon looked at her with eyes of love and saw only beauty. He wrote beautiful poetic words of his rapturous love for her. She trusted His love. She lives knowing that she is His beloved one. She has been “chosen”. She knows she can come to the garden where her heart is marked by the overwhelming love of her King. There she finds comfort and deep spiritual love in His presence. She believes His words that so beautifully reflect God’s eternal passion for her that says, ”I am my Beloveds and my Beloved is mine…and His desire is toward me.” ~Song of Solomon 6:3, 7:10.
