Why Do You Smile?
Revelation is the climactic bookend to the Word of God declaring a blessing to both reader and hearer of this prophetic awe-inspiring Biblical book. Ah the blessing, what a blessing – the hope of the weary, the broken hearted, the contrite where he/she may find peace and hope that this life will not get the best of us. We are victorious because He (our Redeemer) was victorious over death “He who lives and was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore.” The blessing is simply a window for us to see behind the Holy Veil of this “Present Age” dimensions into the reality of our Lord of Lords and King of Kings coming Heavenly Kingdom where we will tabernacle with our Jesus in the New Jerusalem forever and ever. My friend, this is the blessing!
This beautiful divine book affirms the testimony that our “Jesus is the spirit of all prophesy.” It is all about Jesus. Every book in the Bible testifies of Him and His perfect love for you and me whether speaking of His first coming to redeem man back to Himself or His second coming to dwell with us forever. This book is the agglomeration of His beautiful love letter (the Bible), bringing hope to all mankind concerning His “Triumphant Glorious 2nd Coming.”
Our Jesus lovingly warns His bride (church) to turn an about face from: our idolatrous union to this present world, as well as our lukewarm, dead and apathetic relationship to our Messiah. Our Lord desires to be our first love! As it is written, “you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Jesus describes our marriage to himself in heaven; our joining Him at His glorious 2nd coming; our ruling with Him during the Millennium; and finally our living in eternity with Him in the New Jerusalem.
This book exudes God’s passion for us. His passion flows like honey through His fatherly warnings with the singular intent to win our souls and prevent eternity separated from us. What I find most astonishing is God’s passion for you and me. What He is describing above is all about a relationship, not just any relationship (Bride of Christ, co heir with Christ, Rule with Christ, Eternity with Christ). He simply longs to have an intimate loving relationship with you personally throughout the rest of eternity. Think about it, meditate on this, the Alpha and Omega, the God of this universe yearns for you with a passion beyond our comprehension!
The divine theatre where God states, “I love you so much that I died for you just so I may dwell with you in my bosom.” He is our dragon slaying King and protector, the One who is, and who was and who is to come; the faithful witness; the first born from the dead; the ruler over the kings of the earth; the Alpha and Omega the Beginning and the End; the Almighty; the Son of Man; the First and the Last; He who lives and was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore; the Son of God; He who is Holy, He who is true, He who has the key to David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens; the Faithful and True Witness; The beginning of the creation of God; the Lord God Almighty; the Lord; the Lion of the tribe of Judah; the Root of David; the Lamb who was slain; the Redeemer; God; Him who lives forever and ever; the God of the earth; the God of Heaven; the Christ; the Spirit; the King of the saints; the Lord of Lords and King of Kings; the Lord God Omnipotent; A name only known to Himself; The Word of God; the great God; the Bright and Morning Star; the Lord Jesus!!!
