Fall In Love With The One Who Knows And Loves You The Most

August 16, 2010

For our vacation, my beloved husband and I had decided we would celebrate my nephew’s tenth birthday by camping in Yosemite. If you desire to see God’s land, visit this glorious place; everywhere your eye travels, His beauty surrounds you. My nephew had never camped before so this was a new experience for him in many ways. One early morning while his mom was still sleeping, we went to our secret place together. Not too far from our tent, my nephew and I found a huge flat boulder, which had the appearance of an outdoor deck, with trees surrounding it to keep it hidden from plain sight. It hung over a running brook, surrounded by a meadow of flowers

and butterflies, and looking out across from the brook and green meadow, stood mountainous rocks upon rocks, with a forest of trees. The morning sun was rising and kissing the tips of the rocks and trees, causing them to glow and the leaves shimmer. Bugs were landing on the surface of the water and my nephew, the newly discovered photographer, was snapping the perfect shot. That day I discovered my nephew was aesthetic, and quite creative in his thinking. I love this boy, and I thought I knew everything about him, but that morning God showed me He knows him so much more, so intimately, even as a child, God created him to be unique just for Himself. He was His masterpiece.

My nephew introduced my husband to our secret place the next morning. Blue birds and squirrels came out to enjoy the morning with us. While the guys where hunting for bugs in the water to photograph, I was reading the Bible to them. I was reading Psalm 18, which was perfect timing as we were sitting on the huge boulder. The Psalm starts off by David declaring, “I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” It was a sweet parallel, as we felt safe and secure sitting on the huge rock reading “God is my rock.” My husband then asked my nephew a wonderful question…” Do you know God’s purpose for creating you?” My nephew shook his head no. His answer was no to a very important question, one that we all need to know and understand. My husband went on to say, “He created you so He could love you and have fellowship with you and for you to love Him in return. He loves it when you talk to Him and just want to be with Him. Fellowship just means hanging out together sharing everything together. He just wants to be with you.” I could see it register in his ten year old mind. How precious and simple our purpose really is; we don’t need to strive in our relationship with the Lord, or perform for Him. He just desires fellowship with us. He wants an intimate relationship. My prayer, as my nephew came down from the mountain that day, is he learned the truth about God, and that His love for him is pure and unconditional, and with this knowledge, he will fellowship with God for the rest of his life. I pray this for you and for myself.

No one will ever know you like the Lord knows you, and no one will ever love you the way He loves you. His sole purpose for creating you was to love you. His love is truly unconditional, and you will find this in no other person other than Him. He created you to love you. He created you as a unique individual. He has such an imagination; no two people are created identical! Two people may have things in common, but they are not exactly alike. How extraordinary! He is beyond creative! He is a master artist! And you are the master’s masterpiece, created to be loved by Him, with a love beyond the heavens.
