Why Do You Smile?

“Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”
Jeremiah 29:12

Flight 1074 California to Tampa, Florida

His eyes filled with tears as he gazed out the window of the plane. His name was Ricky, and he appeared to be about 20 years old. “Lord, I understand I may never know what will happen to this young man, but You do. Such sorrow. I lift up his broken heart.

I discovered his parents had been killed in a boating accident, and he was on his way to identify them. Alone as he sat by the window; the tears continued to stream down his face. He’s so broken Father. I ask of You Lord, please pick up the pieces. Pull him close to Your heart. Hold him Father. Help him through this. Place Your healing balm on his heart. If he does not know You personally Lord, I ask that You would use this time of grief to point him to You. The healer of souls.

I gave him the New York CD with the gospel and salvation prayer. Lord, he is having his own ground zero. I pray You will use this CD tool, that Your Spirit will touch this broken heart and save him.

The flight attendants gathered money and food to give him, for he had none.

Passengers behind and across from him witnessed this, and began their own collection of money to bless him. Tears spilled down his face as he was overcome by the kindness of those on the plane. Lord I ask that You send others that love You to him.

Bless him with kindness and the love of others. Let him know You are there and that You love him and will never leave him. Lord be the lover of his soul.

In Jesus’ loving name,

Amen
