Why Do You Smile?
Why Do You Smile?
November 3, 2002
I watched a young guy named Salvador slowly walk toward the back of the plane where I was working. As he stood around, I couldn’t help notice how troubled and upset he seemed. So sad.
I asked if he was ok or if I could get him something, and then all of a sudden he began to pour out his heart. He struggled as he shared that he had just lost his younger 19-year-old sister in a car accident, and was on his way to the memorial service.
I know God You set this appointment up.
I shared with him Jesus is there for him, cares about him very much and is with him. He mentioned ever since the accident, he has desired to know more about God. I shared how God already knew everything about him, and loved him dearly. His heart was so tender Lord.
I gave him the New York CD with the gospel message and salvation prayer. I explained to him if he feels a pull, a tug on his heart, this is the Lord drawing him to Himself.
Jesus, I pray that You would give him the opportunity to listen to the CD and that You Father would direct him to a church. I pray Lord that You would get a hold of this sweet guy and make him one of Yours. Save him Jesus. Heal his pain with the loss of his sister and touch his family at this sad time. Save his entire family Jesus. May they all be Yours. May You use this time in their lives to point to Jesus, their true home. In Jesus name Amen
And Jesus said,
“Come to the water,
stand by my side;
I know you are thirsty,
you won’t be denied.
I felt every teardrop
when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind
you that for those
tears I died.”
“Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:12
